域多利監獄



















繼去年3月,是月域多利監獄再度開放給公衆參觀,對我此等前朝殖民地歷史建築迷,一向只能在街頭遙望,這次能入冊而不用留案底細看,除細味每座建築物,更能理解一下階下囚的生活。
這組建於19-20世紀初的維多利亞式的建築群(簡單說就是將當年大英帝國的建築照搬到殖民地)的外觀令人神往,但當你步入囚室,一種陰森泠冰之氣襲人而至。囚室雖裝罝了光管,仍很幽喑。想像在百多年前仍用油燈的時侯,在四面銅牆的囚室,真的可怖!
在空置的囚室,不難發現囚犯在牆壁、床板留下他們的話:有後悔、有詛咒、有問天.......其中留在床板的這幾句話,究竟反影了多少偷渡客難民的悲歌:
我以後都吾來香港,留低陰影實在太大,付出又太多.......
寫這句話的人是否已經得自由?除了失去自由,他們還失去甚麼?

  • I had the same eerie feeling when I visited the local 19th century jail where they used to execute the condemned. During the mid-night tour, the guide would specifically mention that the little "waiting cells" next to the gallows were haunted and everybody's hairs on the back of his/her neck would just stand up!!!

  • 更恐怖仲有.....

    例如 oD囚犯悶極無聊, 甚至悶到發瘋, 就用手指甲喺牆, 喺牆上挖呀挖, 挖來挖去, 時而輕挖, 時而用力挖, 時而慢, 時則快, 用以發出 "音樂" 去自娛 (還是另類呼寃).

    這音樂, 有時滿遍整個監倉, 有時只得獨奏孤鳴....

    嗚.... 一遍森寒哀嚎.
